A full strength Tawheed side turned out in this much anticipated top of the
League clash. Tawheed were intent on spoiling the Champion Elect’s home run.
They were also looking to avenge the cup exit earlier on in the season at
the hands of the Dynamite Ducks.
Ducks won the toss and elected to bat. With Tawheed Strike Bowler Zubair
back in action for only his second appearance of the season and (man for all
occasions)Yasser opening the bowling, Tawheed bowled a tight line and looked
hungry in the field.
They were pumped up for this fixture and the focus was clear to see as
Nadeem conjured up a run out of nowhere to run out Dynamite Ducks’ dangerous
all-rounder Sibet Hussain in the 1st over. Yasser and Zubair got rid of the
Ducks dangerous top order to expose the lesser able late-order batsmen.
An injury prone Fazal tried his hand at bowling and his recently dislocated
finger started to throb in the middle of his first over. Sportingly Ducks
Captain Zia allowed Fazal's younger brother Nadeem to complete the over - a
sporting gesture which was much appreciated. Unfortunately for Ducks, Nadeem
struck with his first ball, clean bowling Ducks batsman Waqas.
Ducks played a rearguard action for the rest of their innings to survive and
try and complete their full quota of overs. With wickets falling regularly
The Dynamite ducks folded for a paltry 67 in the 12th over.
Manpreet Singh made a sparkling debut for Tawheed as he posted 35 not out,
He was assisted in the run chase by Ali Khan and Kashif Malik in anew look
top order for Tawheed.
The Job was completed in 6.3 overs as Tawheed's usual top order- Yasser,
Nadeem and Fazal were left with no batting practice this week !
