Bengal Tigers v Victoria Lounge

Monday 22 July 2013, Victoria Park
Bengal Tigers won by 3 wickets

Bengal Tigers lost the toss and were put into field

Victoria Lounge: 120 for 2 in 16 overs
James 52 not out
Jo 17 not out
Will 17
Warren 4-0-26-1 Gaurav 4-0-35-1 Mike 4-0-22-0

Bengal Tigers: 121 for 4 in 14.3 overs
Arj 38 not out
David 35
Gaurav 14 not out
Woodoo 3-0-20-3 Jo 4-0-31-1

Another win for the Tigers on a very hot and humid evening.

With the mercury pushing towards the mid thirties Victoria Lounge won the toss and elected to bat. A fine start by the batting side saw VL reach 73 without loss at the halfway mark.

But there was no panic by the Tigers and the retirement of opener, James, who was starting to hit boundaries with ease (30 off 2 overs at one point) changed the complexion of the game.

The Tigers bowling attack started bowling the correct length and strangled the scoring. With only 47 being scored off the last 8 overs, VL's score of 120 was looking possibly 20 runs short.

VL got off to a great start with the ball and Woodoo took 3 wickets off his first 2 overs. This left the Tigers on 25 for 3 off four overs.

However, the Tigers had their strongest batting line up of the season and David and Arj put on 70 for the 4th wicket.

David was eventually out off a great caught and bowled, but with less than 20 needed Gaurav came to the crease and quickly scored the required runs.

Thanks to VL for a good game.
