An excellent game played under light drizzle and gloomy conditions. ELCCC
won the toss and elected to bat. With all top four batsman scoring in double
figures at a steady pace ELCCC posted a total of 144-2 in 14 overs.
Over were reduced due to a bit late start and dark conditions. Run rate of
10+ runs per over and injured captain of sky Riz both seemed to play a part
in the game. Sky started very well with 24 runs in first 2 overs but then
ELCCC bowlers came back very strong and started taking wickets from 3rd over
onwards.
Even with injury Riz showed excellent commitment and Alim was also in good
form at other end but ELCCC bowlers knew just what they needed to give and
by keeping run rate below asking it seemed very difficult after 10th over.
Ajmal bowled a superb over and took two wickets in 4 balls to put sky
at even further back. Finally with 18 runs needed of 3 balls Syed took an
superb over head catch just inches inside the boundary line. A very good
game played under right spirit and in a very friendly way.
Thanks to Sky for turning up in bad weather. Good luck to both teams for
2011 season at VPCCL.
