Old Ranwellians v Regents

Thursday 1 July 2010, Victoria Park

Old Ranwellians won by 6 wickets

Old Ranwellians lost the toss and were put into field

Regents: 107 for 5 in 16 overs
Hudson 3-12

Old Ranwellians: 108 for 1 in 14.2 overs
Hudson 50*

A stand out performance from stand in skipper Alex Hudson secured Old Ranwellian's second victory of the season. Regents batted first, with tight bowling as ever from Ford (1-22) and Eaton (1-24) restricting the rate.

The shackles came off a little for Regents, which helped them boost their total to 107 off the allotted 16 overs, but they were pulled back by tight bowling from Hudson, who claimed 3-12 off 3 overs, including 2 smart stumpings from Mark Dewhirst.

Hudson was in magnificient form with the bat, crashing boundaries alternated with clever rotating of the strike. Whilst an out of form Eaton (13) swished aimlessly outside off stump until successfully nicking behind, Hudson showed off his full repertoire of strokes.

Hudson completed his well deserved 50 after being joined by Ford (19*), who began to find some form after a scratchy start including hitting the winning runs. Thanks to Regents for a fun game played in a jovial spirit. Good luck for the rest of the season
