Caledonian Conquerers were fired up for this one following 2 consecutive
defeats in recent weeks. The players made amends with a comfortable 6 wicket
win over a useful London Wanderers outfit. Wanderers elected to bat first
and made a par score of 127, they were pegged back by some hungry Cally's
fielders especially new signing Rashid with his direct hit- run out. L.W
batsmen committed 'harakiri' as three of them were run out to some
impressive Cally's fielding.
Mohammed Nadeem and Waqar Ali Opened with intent and were averaging
10-12 runs an over. Nadeem retired on 53 and was replaced by Fazal Mohammed
who carried on where is brother left off. Ali needed 6 runs for his fifty as
Callys need 6 runs to win. Despite several attempts for his partner Fazal
Mohammed to give Ali the strike, L.W bowlers had the consolation of
preventing another Cally's player getting to 50, as Paul took the one and
Only Cally's wicket of Ali to fall.
The game was played in friendly and high spirits. Good Luck Wanderers
for the rest of the season.
