Regents won by 12 runs
Regents won the toss and chose to bat first
Regents: 188 for 0 in 16 overs
Walsh 53*
Mortimer 51*
Farmar 50*
Old Fallopians: 176 for 5 in 16 overs
Williams 50*
Behar 38
Huckle 30
With the short boundary of pitch 1, a deck that sat up and a beautifully
clear sky, this was definitely one for the batsmen. Regents eventually
claimed their first win in the VPCCL. Capitalising on Old Fallopians being a
man down in the field for the majority of their innings, Farmar and Mortimer
set about building a fantastic foundation for Regents, before retiring to
allow Walsh, Campbell and Linay to chance their arms, and set a challenging
score of 188.
Old Fallopians started off like a train, taking advantage of slightly
nervy bowling, but a change of bowling to bring Walsh and Donnellan on
managed to restrict the runs, and a couple of run outs sealed the game,
despite an excellent counter attacking knock from Williams.
