ELCCC won the toss and elected to bat first. From the first over their
openers showed the dynamite they had in them and boom boom altaf hit a six
on the first ball of the match and scored 19 of first over. Shakeel (the
shak attack) was in no different mood and with his classy pulls and drives
he was scoring fluently from other end.
Unluckly shakeel was run out of a no ball but altaf kept hitting and
in came syed. Altaf, syed and yasir all three of them scored 50s and took
the score to 193. It might come as a surprize to others but yes ELCCC's 3
batsmen scored not out 50s agains ducks but I must mention one of their main
player was missing. DD's came to bat with the clear situation in their mind
that the only way to win this game was to start hitting from first ball but
ELCCC's opening bowlers made it clear to them that they are a similar match
as ELCCC's batsmen are.
Tight bowling kept DD's hitters not to get loose and ELCCC kept
scoring rate always in control. With such a huge mountain of a total to
chase every ball had to be it and the pressure of that took its toll. Star
batsman of DD Sibet hussain got out cheaply and rest of others also couldn't
make much impression apart from Zahid who scored unbeaten 50 and then came
back and kept hitting but finally he was bowled out by ELCCC's leg spinner
Iqbal "the mustaq ahmed - mussy".
Zahid who was hitting everyone was not able to understand iqbal's
variation. After his n/o 50 syed showed his excellent form with ball and
took 2 important wickets and held a difficult over head catch just inches
inside long on boundary of yair's ball. Both teams played fairly and
umpiring was umquestionable from both sides. Good luck to both teams for
upcoming games.
