Dynamite Ducks won by 5 wickets
Old Ranwellians won the toss and chose to bat first
Old Ranwellians: 155 for 4 in 16 overs
Vish 50*
Hudson 36
Eaton 21
Ford 18
Dynamite Ducks: 157 for 2 in 12.4 overs
Culley 1-40
Old Ranwellians faced the joyless task of facing Dynamite Ducks on an
overcast, cold evening. Winning the toss and electing to bat, The ORs put in
one of their most impressive stints with the bat.
New signing (an astute net find from Messrs Nash and Field) Vish hammered an
awesome 50, coupled with good support from Hudson, Eaton and Ford, as Old
Ranwellians scored a decent 155.
Dynamite Ducks secured victory with over 3 overs remaining. The match was
somewhat marred by the Old Ranwellians tail facing unnecessary short quick
bowling, the Ducks being utterly indifferent in the field (to the point of
almost not competing).
I'd like to congratulate the work rate and effort of the Old Ranwellians
players, who took it all on the chin in good grace. It bodes well for the
rest of the season, where we will hopefully play more interesting
competitive games of cricket.
