Tawheed began their cup campaign with a fine win over 1st division ELCC. A beautiful sunny day was the setting for some stunning cricket on a bouncy pitch 2.

With both teams observing ramadan and fasting it was always going to be a tough day in the field, so Tawheed heads dropped when put into field in the scorching heat. However the allure of a cup run and a rush of adrenalin soon lifted spirits.

Waqar bowled ELCC's in-form batsman Yaser, a peach of a delivery to open the innings. Yaser made the faintest of touches and it went straight through to keeper Ali. A dream start for Tawheed !

With their star man back in the hut it was backs to the wall time for ELCC throughout the innings. Tawheed had a good day in the field with everyone contributing and for once all the catches sticking.

ELCC struggled to a below par 101. Tawheed chased the score down comfortably with the Mohammed brothers once again in fine form. A disappointing day at the office for ELCC was topped off with 3 dropped catches and numerous misfields to hand victory to Tawheed in this much anticipated fixture.

ELCC will lick thier wounds and no doubt come back even stronger next season. Well done Tawheed for a thoroughly professional performance against strong opposition, but alas sterner tests await , 1st round out of the way 4 more games to go !
