Regents v Homerton

Monday 16 July 2012, Victoria Park
Regents won by 7 wickets

Regents lost the toss and were put into field

Homerton: 83 for 6 in 12 overs
Siddique - 35
Appleby 3-2-12 Donnellan - 3-1-15

Regents: 86 for 0 in 9.3 overs
Mortimer - 50*
Farmar - 23*
Walsh - 10*

Game reduced to 12 overs to ensure a result. Regents put into field, and kept the rate down, helped to a large degree by the long, damp grass.

The wickets eventually started to come, half of which were at least partially due to slipping in search of tight runs, as well as a bowled each from Appleby and Donnellan.

Some superb hitting out from Siddique helped the score up to something defendable, until Walsh produced a beauty that *just* clipped the off bail to remove him.

Regents started the chase in controlled fashion, and with a decent base began to play some more expansive shots, with Farmar happy to concede most of the strike to Mortimer.

The only moment of alarm came on a dropped catch - less so for the drop (there'd been plenty of those from both teams already), but more for the ball-face interaction that occured as a result.

The Homerton player was OK, if very swollen cheeked, and the game resumed for Regents to wrap up with overs to spare.

Shame a lot of this season was ruined by the rain, given better weather there may have been a title tilt by Regents. To the cup!
