Tawheed got back to winning ways after the setback against Junoon left them
langiushing mid table last time out.
With half an eye on a long cup campaign Tawheed pencilled a few changes with
Mohammed Fazal and Gulfraz joining the regulars and Anwaar making his debut
for the 1st time this season. Fazal opened the batting with Arshad and they
set about the East 8 bowlers with no mercy.
With the run rate over 14 per over Tawheed rushed to 70 without loss inside
the first 5 overs. Abby molvi shuffled his bowlers around and the onslaught
was arrested temporarily with the spin of Mohsin and Irfan.
However with pitch 1s boundaries looking ever smaller- everything that made
contact with the willow was duly dispatched. Fazal and Arshad retired with
thier 50s unbeaten. East 8 had temorary respite but only to face younger
brother Mohammed Nadeem and Janzeb finding some form.
Tawheed finished with thier 2nd highest total of the 2012 campaign at 168.
East 8 reply was slow, with Kash being bowled by debutant Anwaar off the 2nd
ball of their innings.
Where the quicks struggled to take wickets- Man of the Match Arshad Ali took
3 wickets to add to his 50. He was abley assisted by skipper Saj Rehman as
thier combined slow attack resulted in 4 wickets for 17 off 6 overs.
With the middle overs being so ecomomical, East 8 were never really in the
game as wickets fell at regular intervals and East 8 finally folded for a
respectable 101.
The Game was played in good spirits with mutual respect from both sides.
