Tawheed continue their early season good form and faced an upbeat Wronguns
opposition. With Nadeem and Arshad going on the assault from the off Tawheed
looked like they were going to post a healthy total. Some accurate bowling
from Spike and Nick brought Wronguns some early rewards dismissing Tawheed's
top two batsman early on.
But this only brought Malik to the crease who was also in the good
touch early on in the season. Malik and Omar posted a solid 3rd wicket
partnership taking Tawheed to a score of 150 plus for the 1st time this
season. Once these two were out, the Tawheed tail wagged to post a healthy
183. Tawheed took the gas off the peddle in the Wronguns reply and only
managed to take 4 of their wickets.
Wronguns made a valiant effort chasing the mammoth task and looked
like they will hold their own in a competitive Division 2. Spike was the
wronguns danger man and looked like he was going to go for a win. But once
he was run out the Wronguns middle order fell behind the run rate to bring
thier inings to a close for a respectable 112.
The match was played in good spirits with mutual respect from both
sides. Gode luck Wronguns for the rest of the season !
