Stoke Newington v Old Ranwellians

Tuesday 2 August 2011, Victoria Park
Stoke Newington won by 72 runs

Stoke Newington won the toss and chose to bat first

Stoke Newington: 173 for 2 in 16 overs
Scott Doody 53 retired
Ali Sarafat 43no
Greening 4 overs 30 for 2

Old Ranwellians: 101 for 7 in 13 overs
Scott Doody 3 overs 15 for 4

Stoke Newington chose to bat and openers Scott and Andre set off at a fearsome pace before Greening came on with some fine spin and Andre swiped one time too many, being bowled for 19.

Greening spun his magic again shortly after bowling Winston for 3 and after a storming start Stokey looked like they might crumble. In came young (17) Ali. After 52 last week carried on in the same mode with some fine cover drives. His first four scoring shots all being 4's.

After CaptanScott was retired on 53, Ali was joined by 18 year old Charlie who held his end which Ali went at the bowling. They ended with 43no (Ali) and 28no (Charlie). Stoke Newington finishing on 173 for 2. Ranwellians started with a tight over from Simon and a loose one from Theo before losing their first wicket to Simon, off a lifter caught behind.

Theo tighted up in his second getting the dangerous looking Eton with a brilliantly caught catch by Winston at point. Simon followed with a dreadful over of wides before both openers were replaced by Winston and Scott. Winston got a wicket in his second over Scott replying with 3 in his as Ranwellians subsided.

Scott gave Ali and Immi overs at the end as Ranwellians were bowled out for 101 in 13 overs
