It turned out to be a fine day for cricket East 8 won the toss and chose to
put Homerton into bat first.
Opener Nas contained the runs whilst Ali began his magic with his leg spin
by taking three early wickets and put Homerton under pressure. John SG kept
his composure and played a fine innings keeping the score board moving at a
steady pace - Well done John who made 62 runs.
The second pair of bowlers Abby and Zam also continued the pressure as
wickets fell at regular intervals and Homerton finished their innings ar 115
all out on the last over of the innings.
East 8 began the inning with with Kash playing a confident innings with
fantastic stroke play and a couple of exquisite sixes. a couple of early
wickets at the other end gave Homerton a glimpse of hope of a victory but
with Zam playing steady, hitting 34 runs bought victory closer for East 8.
Kash ended his innings on 44 runs but the game was in East 8's hands with
only 9 runs left to go which was finished off quickly by Abby and Zam.
Homerton were a brilliant team to play against and were very professional
throughout with loads of friendly banter from both teams.
Both teams complimented each others teams with their batting and bowling.
East 8 would love to play Homerton for friendlies as fun and a good game is
guaranteed. Keep the spirits up boys and good luck in the rest of the league
games.
East 8 are going from strength to strength and have built a fantastic team
all round. Division 2 is becoming very interesting with the top position
changing after every game. Great stuff!
