A game played in good spirits by both sides. Island proved too strong for
us, even being a player light!. Openers looked like they could have batted
all day, until an unexpected run out.
Bowlers made a bit of a come back, slowing the run rate to single figures an
overs and getting a handful of wickets, but strong running on a big pitch
meant Island were still ticking.
Wronguns batted ok, but could get the ball off the strip for about 4 overs,
meaning we were always struggling.
Middle overs were better and the loss of only 3 wickets, one of which was a
classic Pieteson style suicide run from me when told I was on 49, shows the
bowling didn't cause us too much discomfort, but the rate was kept in check,
so job done by Island.
Well done and thanks for the game, good luck for the rest of the season (the
team to beat in this division IMO).
