J.Kennedy 47*

Nags 4.0.1.24
After winning the toss Martians elected to bat in Flash Hard's inaugural
match. A good opening partnership of 62 from Dom and John was eventually
broken when Dom fell LBW to Yates for 17. John was run out soon after
following an excellent direct hit from a swooping Freed at mid wicket.
After some tight bowling from Romain and Yates in the middle overs another
good partnership from Nilish and Nags took shape and a late flurry of
boundaries took the Martians to a challenging total 149 at the end of the
16th over.
With the required run rate at just under 10 an over Flash Hard made a good
start with Kennedy and Yates putting on 45 before Yates was stumped off the
bowling of Nags for 23. Houcke came in to play a useful innings of 18 with
some much needed boundaries whilst Kennedy dug in at the other end. Houcke
was then bowled by a good ball from Dilish to bring Romain to the crease.
Having bowled four tight overs and taken a wicket, Romain impressed with the
bat as well.
With an exhausted Kennedy having run all but two boundaries on his way to an
eventual 47 not out it was Romain's boundary hitting that kept the run rate
within touching distance in the closing overs. With 15 required off the last
two overs, Romain's unbeaten innings of 46 finished with a four on the 3rd
last ball to win the match.
