Caledonian Conquerors won by 44 runs
Old Ranwellians lost the toss and were put into field
Caledonian Conquerors: 168 for 6 in 16 overs
Andre 3-28
Old Ranwellians: 124 for 4 in 16 overs
Ford 32*
Eaton 24
Hudson 22
After losing the toss Old Ranwellians were asked to bowl first, with Ford
and Eaton showing their skill with the new ball. New recruit Andre bowled
nicely to take 3 deserved wickets, as the Conquerers accrued 168 runs.
The chase was afoot, and Hudson and Eaton did well to make starts,
albeit a little slower than the required rate.
Hudson fell first, for skipper Greening to come in at 3 only to bring
shame to the Old Ranwellians by kicking his stumps in anger and frustration
at his dismissal. It was a regrettable incident that I expect to not occur
again.
Ford and another debutant Greg came to the fore, bashing a few balls
to the boundary to narrow the margin of defeat.
