Caledonian Conquerors won by 6 wickets
Tower Ravens 49 all out
Caledonian Conquerors 50-1
Michael Biggs of Tower Ravens writes:
On a bright, sunny and hot summer evening at Victoria Park Tower Ravens won
the toss and had no hesitation in batting first. From that point onwards
things went downhill - fast!
Four Ravens (Pierre, Nick, Paul and Ian) failed to trouble the scorers as
the excellent Conquerors pace attack turned the Ravens innings into a train
wreck - 49 all out (our lowest score for some years) in less than half the
16 overs.
The paltry target was quickly reached allowing the Ravens to retire
(ashen faced) to the tranquility of a local beer garden to ponder on such
diverse subjects as the merits of European Union, identity fraud and Daryl's
crimes against the local squirrel population.
ll this whilst contemplating from where exactly those conqueroring
Conquerors bowlers came from? Even the remaining 4 Callies players didn't
seem sure!!!
In any case on this occasion the Conquerors most certainly lived up to
their name as they came, saw and conquered the sorry Ravens. |
