London Fields' Dave Hickey reports:
Well what do you say, 16 runs short of 400 in under 3 hours and with only 7
players.
Winning the toss Fields elected to bat. An easy decision as only 6 were
present at 'toss time'. A strong start from Will Isaac and James M got The
Fields to 77 before James was brilliantly caught on the boundary for 28.
Will went on to complete his 50 with some clean hitting. This brought Dave
to the crease who picked up where Will left off smashing a quick fire fifty.
Shaun also went on to complete his 50. Shaun, Will and Dave scored their
fifities in an aggregate of 65 balls. That includes 12 dot balls. This meant
The Fields set HSBC a daunting and maybe record score of 223 to win.
HSBC were never in any serious danger of reaching the huge target. However,
The Fields bowlers did their best to help by providing an extra 3 over’s for
them by bowling 18 wides! Special mention must go to Nick Isaac who
recovered well after his first over to bowl a tight line and length. Tyronne
took two wickets, clean bowling some dangerous stroke players just as they
were getting into their stride.
The game finished in near dark with the Fields a comfortable 50 runs the
better.
Oh yes and don't forget two hundred and twenty 'tue' for 'tue'. Magic! |
