Sky won by four wickets
Mick Reid of Rose & Crown writes:
Rose and Crown won the toss against the mighty Sky and elected to bat.
The Rose made 115 for 6 with elegant Sean Feeney retiring on 52, the backbone of the innings.
Useful contributions around the 20 runs mark apiece from Patrick Heaphy, Mick Reid and Alan Hicks.
Would 115 be enough to quell the mighty Sky? That was the question buzzing around the park on a beautiful sunlit evening. I think the bees had it in the end because, yes, you've guessed, it wasn't quite enough on the day.
However, the Rose do feel that we sent a couple of shivers down the Sky backs with a splendid bowling debut from Andy Rockall; he taking two good wickets. John Mortimer took a third and, if two dropped chances in the deep had been held, it might have been a different story who knows?
The Rose and Crown remain unbowed with spirits high after recent disappointments!!
I'm afraid I don't know the names of the Sky batsmen who got the runs nor
those who took the wickets.
