Records tumble
The kind of start we got was nothing less than astonishing.
The fifty was up after 1.5 overs!
Dougal’s first over, the second of the match went for 40 runs, yes FORTY.
The batsman Naz, took full advantage of the full tosses and leg side bowling.
The sequence was: 6 6(no ball) 6(no ball) . 6 4 6 4
After two overs were were 55 for 1.
Unfortunately Naz couldn’t add more to his total and was out caught behind making 39 off 10 balls.
The batsmen that followed tried to emulate him and lost their wickets going for one shot too many. Mudassar and Saleem went early and we were 100 for 4 after 7.
The batsmen at the crease Imran Khan and Shakeel showed some patience and played sensibly for another 7 overs.
Shakeel was finally out for a very well compiled 62.
Imran was still at the wicket not out on 49 when the inning closed and a total of 224 was reached.
Highgate never went for it and simply played out their overs.
In the end it became a formality. 116 for 4 was the final score as we won by 108 runs.
